Smoothie in a hurry

0 Comments  /  Jump to Recipe

You know those beautiful smoothie recipes on pinterest? The ones that are jewel-toned, clearly fresh and delicious? Well, mine don’t tend to look like that. And some of the beautiful smoothies taste gritty in real life (I’m looking at you oatmeal people. Oatmeal doesn’t go in a smoothie!). The other day after my workout, I wanted to keep riding the healthy wave. So I threw this baby together. It came out avocado green, but Griff hates green stuff and stole half of it. Needless to say, I’ll be doing that again.

Throw some sweet, some filling and some zesty in a blender. Blitz. Drink. Substitute random stuff from your fridge with no guilt. Got vanilla yogurt and a peach? Throw them in there. Nothing here is sacred.

By:

Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain lowfat yogurt
  • 1 pint raspberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 kiwi
  • 2 big handfuls baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 handful ice
  • 1 TB cocoa powder
  • 1-2 egg whites
Directions
  • Step 1 Throw all things in the blender.
  • Step 2 Check your fridge for random fruit bits and chuck in any other bits that suit your fancy.
  • Step 3 Blend away!
  • Step 4 Drink immediately – so it can’t be swiped by your kids and because warm smoothie is gross.
